Setting the bar

A little over two months ago I was hitting the refresh button on my e-mail nonstop, I was watching my twitter feed #ChiMarathon2015, anxiously waiting the letter that I won the lottery and I'd be going to Chicago. Not much later I found myself cheering at my desk and jumping up and down. I was in! CHICAGO HERE I COME! Since then I've got the hotel and flight all set up and ready to go the only thing left is to train. Today marked the first day of training, but it was a bit different than the first time around. Mentally for me today was all about setting the bar, and setting it high, for the next couple months. It was day one of a new training plan, the one that will lead me to my second full marathon this year and I want nothing but greatness. I want to push past the boundaries and take this training to a new level this time. The last time around was practice; getting use to the miles, the commitment, overcoming a number of things and learning about my body. This time is about running a little faster, reaching a little further, and expecting a little bit more. I want to create new routines, new habit, and become a more efficient me. It has really been the only thing on my mind for the last couple weeks. I've prepped by getting new shoes, a new watch, marking the calendar and eating my last piece of cheesecake for the next 112 days. For me this marks a new time period, a time to go above and beyond and also to train smarter, faster, and harder! Not only do I want to see results and improvements out on the road, but I want to see personal results for me, my business and my design skills. If you recall a post a few months back, I touched a bit on life as a designer and a runner and how they go hand in hand. I want to really run and fuel myself off from this idea and see where it takes me in the next few months. So here it is...
Day 1: 5:00am alarm, run complete by 6:30am
And this lovely sketch to have for miles to come...
