Seasonal Web Banners

With the holidays right around the corner and snow beginning to fall in a number of different states, there have been many requests for winter web banners at work. This particular banner took a little extra work in photoshop to place a warm and inviting home into a winter landscape. The challenges that I faced while creating the banner were making the landscape long enough to fit the entire screen and creating a winter scene that did not come across as depressing.  I am pleased to present it to you and overall happy with the end results.

Note** This banner has been created while employed and under art direction at BancVue. I only take credit for the design of the banner, not the design or programming of the site itself.

A work in progress...

I just can't get enough of design. Here is a little project I have been working on when I get a free minute away from the office.

I Moved!

It is true and also the reason why this blog is lacking new and up to date information. The past month has been crazy with planning the largest move of my life thus far. Two weeks ago I began a new job in a new city and a new state. WELCOME TO TEXAS! With that said many of the posts following this one will probably pertain to my new adventure here in Austin,TX.

I laugh at myself when I find something such as this, that is so picture perfect, that I just have to run to find my camera for. I guess that is the creative mind in me that is always searching and thinking more about composition, color, layout and just what would make for a good photo. The best part about it is when you find something special on accident that you weren't trying to create it just happened. On that note time to eat!

This is old and long, but sill has value.

I questioned if it was possible to complete 16 credits, one of which was my senior show project, and work two part-time graphic design internships and like I've always believed...ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I may have walked a little faster, had bigger circles underneath my eyes, but here I am a month later and it is all over. One thing is for sure I've found a true passion and something I absolutely love doing. Five years ago when I entered college I wasn't entirely sure what graphic design was, I knew I liked to draw and I was semi-good at it. I knew that art was the one thing that I could go many hours doing and becoming so wrapped up and lost in. While graphic design is just as much as a job as anything else and work has deadlines, it never seems like work to me.

In the past 5 years of school I have accomplished many goals. While being the first of my family to graduate college is a huge accomplishment in itself, I also found my work featured on blogs and in magazines and freelance opportunities landing on my doorstep. The most recent feature can be found here: Socialize Vodka, AIGA Member Gallery, on Behance (view here)

With all of that said I have turned over the page to a new chapter which I plan to fill with many adventures both big and small. I have set many new goals for my career and myself that I intend to work on little by little to accomplish. I intend to keep this blog updated with work, sketches, and photos. This is probably one of the last word intensive posts I will do, I like to keep it visual and creative!!! I have began a continuously growing bucket list in which I have hopes to soon begin working on.

I am happy to say my new internship with Footlocker.com is going extremely well. I have been there for a little over a month now and was recently asked to go on a photo shoot with the senior designer. This was my first business trip which was a very rewarding and exciting experience. Working corporate is very different than working for a smaller company, but has its pros and cons just like anywhere. More work and updates to come at a later post. Until then enjoy!

Playing Catch Up!

This is going to be short and sweet. I promise there will be a new post soon, but until then enjoy some wedding invitations (a project I am currently finishing up, photographs to come at a later time).
